RE: Focus 2003 (MK1) ecu problem.
I found this... i dont know if it helps...
"The Dealers have told me that to enable them to reset the code I have to purchase two keys as the code can't be reset with just one.

My car will be ready today but it will cost in the region of between £120 - £150. What makes me mad is that it has an excellent service record and is mechanically sound.

Is it my fault the key and the ECU screwed up? Surely that is down to Ford?

I'm rather annoyed I have to shell out this amount of cash for a couple of keys and a few minutes programming."

That was on the net... anyway another reported solution was to disconnect the battery and rub the terminals together leave them disconnected for a good ten minutes... reconnect and try the car again. Make sure you have your radio code !

Ok it doesnt look like there is an immo off for this car.

All i can do for you with this problem is if you need a ford incode outcode pin calculation. Good luck with your search.

RE: Focus 2003 (MK1) ecu problem.
I would definitely try another diagnostic tool I tried to program a key on a transit today with launch pad 2 it said successful but didn't work I put the same in code into ids and it was done in seconds our old autodiagnos used to be very good at ford key programming
