What are the advantages of an ICOM NEXT vs the old ICOM?
My current "old" ICOM works fine, just wondering what I'll gain from upgrading? Is it faster?

Yes, it is faster in F and G series ..

Supports gigabit Ethernet too to be future proof, there currently is not gigabit Ethernet protocol defined yet for autos. Also it has USB3.0 instead of USB2.0 and a better wifi card.

received original icom next

trying to find ip address,
network adapter is on dhcp, and it gets address 169.254.79.142
i tool radar is empty
dr.gini is also empty,
system is solid green
lan is flashing,
in network adapter details i see its sending packages but receives 0

what am i doing wrong?

What are people paying for ICOM Next interfaces nowadays?

Right now the problem seems to be finding a seller. I tried 2 dealerships that each had a good internet presence and both canceled the order saying the part was unavailable. ECS Tuning has it listed on their website for a bit more, ~ $700, and an expected arrival of March 30th. I'm hoping that means that other dealers will be able to get the part too.

Those are not bad prices at all. Do you mind if I ask how long ago was this?

Interestingly enough when I picked up the interfaces from my source I guess they were the last ones because when I tried to order from them again they said they had to source directly from Germany this time.

Received Icom Next 2 days ago OEM part number has no change -
81 31 2 360 883

I also purchased a genuine one. Came from Germany. No change in part number. Manufactured 24/16 per the external case decal (I assume 24th week of 2016), 28/16 per PCB. Came with "PACKAGE IMAGE version" 03.14.08

Anyone have thoughts on the purpose of the 8-pin connector or button cell holder on the board?

I can 't connect with itoolradar to get the ip of the icom ?
I will try with your ip to go directrly on the icom configuration web portal .

Have you a hint for this ?

You have updated the firmware that is factory installed?
If you have not done so, maybe that is the problem, you must first update the firmware.

I put the IP to automatic DHCP to my laptop ,then itoolradar detect ICOM .
I have another problem when connect to a new session :

ista -p error 94202 and 3051

I have installed ista-p 3.61.0.500

any idea ?
