Hello friends,

Just information for those who don't know. Some CIC-MID unit's (SA606 Navigation Business) will brick if you update them to a map higher than motion europe 2013-2 (maybe 2014-1 will work, did use it on a car once but maybe I was just lucky)

The reason that it brick is that the units with the production date 01-09-2009 to 28-02-2010 have just 8GB flash memory. They will be unrepairable bricked!

BMW says
1: Just update to max 2013-2 Europe
2: Replace the CIC-MID unit with a new one

The 2016 maps are smaller right, did anyone try them out on a old unit?

2016 Maps normally needs to load good, the problem only is with 2015-2 and BMW also realeased a later 2015-2 version wich is smaller, only this version you find not on the internet.

I can always repair the software on the unit, also when mapupdate go wrong i can restore it, as long as the bootloader is ok.

But normally 2016 maps you can load without any issue because 2016-1 is even smaller than 2014

However, I have the current data programmed. With 2016 map I solve yet, the dude is going well with CICM 8GB and map 2016

I can confirm that 2014-1 works fine on the 8GB unit. The 2015 version failed at 77.4% and was no possible to recover by myself.
