Ten is maximum here. I kind of knew it but did not realise it until you mentioned it. E6x i-steps are primally read from LM. They can be changed with e60.prg, I am not sure if E-series has backup on some other module like CAS.

Probably it's a mismatch between the software and the car. Or a bug in istap.

Got the same issue with ista p when i tried to program a new lm module to an e60. did not tried to read with ista p with old lm on car. when ista p was reading i got some gateway issues and did not go any further. this car was 2009.... weard

E65 has completely different gateway and ista/p is looking for it, because the i-step werk points to E65, not E60.

Actually SweetBMW was just asking "why did not ISTA/P identify the SGM", I think that this I-step thing was the answer. Of course CCC can be flashed with WInKFP, that was not the original question here
 .

Yes that was the original question. We did solved the problem by flashing with WINKFP and coding with NCS Expert, but the dealer was interested in knowing what the gateway problem was. Thats when i started digging more into the UIFs and realised it was the wrong LM with wrong I level etc.
