RE: Programming Power Supply
You can normally get away with it but it's not advised.
Battery chargers normally have different charge stages and when the battery is fully charged may drop below the threshold (13v on F series) Also, in the 'bulk charge' phase they may go over the acceptable voltage, depending on the charger. ISTA wants to see an nice constant voltage over the several hours it can take to flash the modules so a power supply with plenty of power is ideal. |

RE: Programming Power Supply
If somebody would only search this forum they will find many topics already been answers about it
There are Battery Chargers Battery Maintainers Power Supplies Battery chargers do come with power supply options but battery maintainer do not Main option one should be look for is and will pay higher prices For how long will battery charger provide required amperage and steady voltage I Use "Schumacher" Chargers start at $29.99 Chargers with power Supplies start at 499.99 Now you can see the difference between Power supply and Battery Chargers For programming i use Power supply option with 13.8V in reality bmw shows 13.4~13.2V constantly (28-01-2016, 15:08 PM)unbrick Wrote: I found a PSU which, based on the spec, should be great for F series programming: I would classify it as On Bench with single module and not on car If any of my posts or current one helps then don't forget to press thanks and add a reputation

Deutronic is not the only manufacturer in the world , only use this because BMW is using it ? |
