It can read and write BMW FRM MC9S12XEQ384 in circuit just fine.

I noticed that my XPROG writes to the FRM correctly (verified with Orange5), but Xprog cannot read correctly. Any way to fix xprog read?

2nd point.
I see that Orange5 has an oscillator generator capability. How to use this in software? (for the purpose of recovering Atmega64)

Hello for fixing reading of that 9s12 with xprog I have no idea as I don't have that chip to hand to try reading otherwise I could do some test smile

As for your orange 5 just use 1000khz /1mhz output other frequencies may work but I haven't tested check your Orange 5 manual for which pin to use as output you only need connect 1 wire from it to xtal1 pin on atmega smile

I managed to trick/loop-hole Orange5 to output 1000khz or more, by selecting to program an MCU that has oscillating requirements. So I attempt to write with Orange5 with nothing connected, and it output oscillating signal.

I managed to recover 1 Atmega64. Works in circuit and on breakout board.
I will post pics in your thread.

Hello glad it worked for you and you managed to recover atmega smile and yes if you can add it to my thread that would be brilliant.

RE: XProg 5.5.5 NO DONGLE (SW&FW)
Can someone post a link to the Orange5 programmer that works, I'm tired of buying cheap knockoff programmers that don't work. =/ I'm trying to Read D-Flash, convert, then reflash my FRM3 module as well.

Thanks in advance!
