RE: EBV fault on X5 E53 3.0i RHD
On newer X5 BMW Dealerships change "proportioning valve" that's mounted near the rear axle vary vary common to fail (about $1,xxx use ones never work either)
On older ones e46/e39/e53 i changed a module located under neat of driver floor mat or under neat driver seat (about $500, use ones never work either) But in my Cases i seen it first show up in IKE and then after some time in ABS modules You can also try a CHEAP fix Code IKE AN_EBV from aktiv to nicht_aktiv If any of my posts or current one helps then don't forget to press thanks and add a reputation

Thanks for help? You meant the module located underneath driver seat that is it YAW sensor?
Did you say that AN_EBV or CAN_EBV? Did you mean that: Code KOMBI (IKE) CAN_EBV from aktiv to nicht_aktiv |

RE: EBV fault on X5 E53 3.0i RHD
I am appreciated for your help. It worked for me.
I chose cheap fix. I recoded KOMBI with CAN_EBV: nicht_aktiv. Now, faulty code is gone. However, I wonder that problem maybe cause by YAW or speed sensor. Cost for speed sensor's replacement is cheaper than YAW. So before replace YAW sensor, I need to make sure that speed sensors are in good condition. I also still have a last faulty code in Ecu ZIS, it shows in INPA: No valid status response of TELEPHONE. It also in Rheingold in MID module by German language: Keine gueltige Statusrueckmeldung TELEFON. I didn't use TELEPHONE (no equiped in my car). Any suggesstion for me to get rid it? |

RE: EBV fault on X5 E53 3.0i RHD
Check your ZCS if it contains any telephone option. Maybe previous owner removed it...
YAW sensor neither speed sensor triggers a EBV code. Usually it's caused by right rear wheel harness, check for nasty corrosion there. Quite common for E53. |
