Is it correct that the new DiagBox v8.50 asks for internet connection after selecting a diagnostic function on a vehicle ?
For example if I select "Maintance" on a peugeot 208 a popup will come out saying "connectivity unavailable". That's strange

I use DiagBox (all versions) and don't need to connect. I don't know if what you need do requires downloading of some files, like firmware updates.
There is a way of dismissing the internet connection request (if you don't need PSA connection) in one of the posts.

Yes probably I did something wrong, cause the whole UI is different (looks like the new v8 UI).
So from what i understand, by using the DiagBox v7 engine with DiagBox v8 data as described in the first post of this thread you only update the Lexia and PP2000 stuff, the DiagBox never get's updated. Is that correct ?

No that's not correct. The last update for DiagBox 7.xx is 7.77. Further updates are actually V8 updates reconfigured to fit V7.

We install DiagBox 7.57 to use its profile (I have explained why and how in other posts). Then we install the REAL DiagBox 8.01 using the profile (only few files) obtained from installation 7.57 to activate DiagBox 8.01. Then use the REAL Version 8 updates..

After update 8.17, I did not post a full update. I posted updates for Lexia and PP2000 up to 8.50.

I hope this explains it.

I found in this thread some posts where you explain that you found problems in regenerating updates after 8.17, this is due to the fact that they have heavily modified some .dll of the activation process?

What do you think will happen to your installation when you try to connect to PSA server and update without approved User Name and Password ??

If your installation is locked and you have backed up your APPDIAG.SYS file, try restoring it. It it is still working, don't try updating over the net, it will get locked.

ok so with wich method i get an working diagbox over version 8.17?

DiagBox updates beyond 8.17 have to be worked on. One cannot just download the updates from PSA and install them, if not a legitimate dealer or user, it will render the system non functional..

However, I have posted updates to Lexia and PP2000 within DiagBox up to v8.50. They are genuine non doctored updates that actually work. I have downloaded 8.53 (it includes Bluetooth Firmware updates) few days ago, but did not get the time to repackage it.
