I have come across this on Windows 7 some time back as well, but I cannot remember how did I solve it. I am not sure if it is related to the Windows 7 Version/Release (Retal/VL or the SP).
In the mean time try Windows XP, it is faster and needs less resources.

P.S. Install Internet Explorer 8 on XP if you can..

One thing is confusing for me: when installing from v8.01 as this thread says, it has to be done with internet connected? Or disconnected ?
Another question, do you recommend installing your v8.01 and then move forward until v8.38 or is it ok if I have installed old v7.57 from scarymistake and then move on with your updates?

I used to perform these updates with the network disconnected, I now do it with the network connected. Currently, it does not matter, but may be later PSA will develop something to access your system and lock it. Just make sure that you have a copy of APPDIAG.SYS backed up somewhere.

You should start with any version of DiagBox higher than 7.49. If you have nothing installed, the easiest is 7.01/02 --> 7.xx-7.57; because it is only 2 operations. Then install DiagBox v8.01 in accordance with the procedure in the 1st post. then install all updates up to 8.17, after that you need APP 8.17-8.37 then APP-8.35-8.38..

I hope maitresox will work on DiagBox v8 updates, he said he might. This is his message:

need some help with install 8.01 .

I use win7 os and i have working version 7.82

after step 4. and step 5.( from the first post)
"4- Run DiagBox 8.01 installation (it will uninstall v7.xx first) until it requests Activation. Close it (X) and run the tool "AWRoot_v7_Conf+Ativation_v8.exe" it will copy configuration from "C:\AWRoot7\.." and inject the necessary files.
5- Run DiagBox again, it should continue the installation successfully."

I get again screen with message:
"It is necessary to activate application... "

i have done everything as described in video file in the first post and I tried installation process few times but all the time i get the same result.
What can be reason why AWRoot_v7_Conf+Ativation_v8.exe can't activate application?
