Hi,
today I updated my MMI3G basic with this new 2016 map:
- update map 2016 gone well
- activator 257 gone well

but now if I go in navigation section of my MMI I see not map, only black screen and if I try to setup a new destination I obtain message: "no route to your destination are possibile"

(I have MMI 3G with map 2014 and P0258 already upgraded to map 2014/2015 with successfull activation).

what you suggest?

Have you tried to drive a car 1-2 km ??

solved, I'm in italy so I have to use DVD1!!!!

you confirm activator have to write to SD with map?

I added new SD card with map and it work without run activator then...

Hi all
I just want to know the exact procedure for doing this update, and prepare well. I have found these instructions else where. So now I have 2 questions:

1) Are below instructions exactly what I need to follow step-by-step? In not - what are the instructions then?

2) Will this work without the system coming with error codes? Or will I still need to have acces to someone with access to VAGCOM?

Start the car and:

1. Remove any DVD or SD card(s) from the unit
2. Copy folder FSC and metainfo2.txt to SD card
3. Insert SD card into slot 1
4. Press RADIO, then for 5 seconds hold SETUP + RETURN to get into secret menu
5. Choose UPDATE (bottom right corner) and choose SD1 as the source
6. Follow the instructions on screen, confirming update..
7. When the system asks you if you want "standard" or "user defined" chose STANDARD!
8. Move all the way down to the bottom of the device selection menu list with various attributes and select "Start download"
9. FSC update starts and the system will reboots 2 times during the update. Do not interrupt the update or turn off the car!!
10. When the update is finished "Device summary screen" appears, move down and select "Continue" than "Abort documentation"
11. Remove SD card, activation is finished at this point.
12. Insert DVD or SD card with a map update and enjoy.

FSC update procedure takes about 2-3 min.

Yes this is exactly what you need to do . This procedure is for the activation.

Don't forget that you need to follow this procedure ALSO for the firmware update. The 257 Firmware is MANDATORY for MAP 2016 and activator.

The firmware update need to be done before activation.

Thank a lot. I followed the instructions, and it worked perfectly. No error codes or anything.

The provided activator are based on K0260 and not K0257. So I did update my firmware to K0260 first.

Sorry, I have only 257 versions, I go to upload it...for the other firmware I have already seen it from factory installation...

No, dvd version is for 3G basic(bnav). You need 6.22.4 map and sw 257_6, if your sw starts with letters HNav!
