Im using from ages symlinks to licensed Ista and never had any problem with esys which I using very often

Very useful, when for different SLP use different external hard discs.

Why not just set a PROPER path in ESys' options and NO NEED for any links!?

With Esys i agree.
Problem is with ISTA+, if needed swap between different SDP-s. Install him in old 500 GB external disks and swap if needed. Use SATA- USB adpter.
