Can any one help me with a problem am having with my Ford Transit Connect 2008 1.8L, The PATS Light flashes normal with the key out and then when I insert the key and try to start the PATS light just stays on constantly (The RED light just stays on like its waiting for the key code). and the engine does not crank/turn over.

I have used my diagnostic tool and checked the error code in the Clocks and the code I got was

B2139 PCM ID does not match between the PCM and PATS control (PATS/ICM/VIC/HEC/SCIL).

(This fault only happened when we changed the engine in the van, we used the pump and injectors out of the old engine tho,

First
I'm assuming this is a tdci as it's on a 2008 therefor there was no need to change the pump. The pump on a tddi is needed to be coded or changed over please comfirm tdci.

Second sound to me like for some reason the pats has lost its "handshake" with the pcm or speedo. You should now try to initialise the pats system

And for good measure I would check all your fuses under the glovenbox.

Can you please explain how I would (initialise the pats system) I have used a power probe to check all the fuses and all seam to be fine, I will re-check the fuses again tomorrow and give an update, also I have placed another pump by the original on the engine and pluged it into the pump loom wire to see if it was the pump the fault is still there.

You are going to use acomputer with ids to reinitialise pcm/ipc when it has been done you should delete all keys and reprogram them
it is seen that the ipc looses the pats funktion
if it is a tddi the pump should be initialised to the system and if its a commomrail pump there is nothing to initialised other than pcm and ipc
