Does anybody know how to change VIN # in Honda/Acura ECU?
Can it be done by HDS-HIM/GNA600/xhorse (OFF-LINE)
Can it be done on Vehicle or ECU has to come-out ?
Can somebody describe process... ?

I tried doing this using HDS with PassThru but did not find such an option at the time.... i tried doing it with an off-line and online versions of software
All it gave me is an upgrade File for an ecu but not an option to change VIN

Reason i'm asking cause somebody that i know of, replaced Automatic Tranny for Manual and now there is a check engine for that reason (many codes... rpm are high and many other things as well)
Those far that i found, many people replace pre-1996 ecu's in to newer cars to eliminate this problem but there is lack of information on 1996 - UP cars

In Australia early honda's don't have vin written but can't proceed with tool untill vin and speedo written . No problem

rewriting the vin in Honda is easy, just open the hds and when it displays the vin just erase that one and write yours, it will automatically write it, this may cause immo issues. however this is not going to solve your issue, the pcm is looking for a buch of sensors ,solenoids,etc that no longer exist and for that reason it will show a bunch of codes. the pcm will have to be replaced for a stick shift pcm and maybe just maybe you will solve your problem. I have never done this, just assuming it may work since the wiring harness may be different. good luck
