Need to use a TAL filter to force blDeploy, swDeploy, and cdDeploy, otherwise the TAL will execute and complete "successfully" in a few seconds, instead of the full 3-5 minutes it takes to actually flash the files.

Also don't forget to reset your DCT adaptation values post flash.

No need to blDeploy, only flashing new SWFL not bootloader

Completely dependent on your version of E-Sys. I think E-Sys 3.28+ has a special tal-filter editor which allows you to choose which tal actions are performed. For EGS, on my test cars at least, the diagnostic address is 18 so on the row for ECU at x18 set blDeploy, swDeploy, and cdDeploy to force. Save the filtered TAL and then continue in TAL Processing to force flash the ECU. TAL filtering is done differently in 2.27.1 and below and I cannot recall off the top of my head how it is done, one of the tabs allows right clicking on the SVT tree to select the filter for that ECU. Personally I work almost exclusively with the newest vehicles and psdzdata so I use 3.30.1 and have no issues.

Yeah, or you can be extra careful and safe like me and open the SVT_toll and TAL file in Notepad++ and double check only EGS4 is being flashed, but its probably doing the same as the TAL filter editor. Btw, I used 3.27.1 for this flash.

Now, only if someone knows how to FDL code GTS rear diff/power steering? There are some Xpath expressions that evaluate False, is there a way to trick the ECU to evaluate them as True without messing about with VO/FA?

Trans adaptations reset is generally performed in ISTA. Personally i prefer to do the bootloader force flash as well to reduce the chance of the ECU flash being corrupted, by flashing the entire microprocessor file, bltd+cafd+swfl, everything is rewritten and reduces the chance of corruption. The risk is quite low but hey better safe than sorry, only adds about 20 seconds onto the TAL execution.

I personally don't have an F8X to test with but im a little confused about what you're asking, does the rear diff ECU and EPS share SWFLs with the standard M3/4? If so please post/send me the .ncd files for those 2 modules so I can take a look at the FDL coding. If they have different SWFLs i would assume the process is the same as the EGS flash.

I work closely with the lead dev of bootmod3 and will make sure that gets updated if it's not already.

I just purchased bootmod3, I know GTS DCT flash is available but does bootmod3 include GTS Diff, DSC, EPS too? So i do not need esys to do those? Sorry I still have to register so I can't see it at the moment.
