RE: E60 530D need help!
I had somewhat similar problem when cable to one pair of injectors was damaged and shorted to ground. Engine would start once or twice, sounded ok, but no reaction to throttle and shutdown in a few seconds but exactly as in your case - not suddenly but if there would be no fuel or air. Same effect with throttle as well. Only crank after that until you cycle ignition and wait a bit.
However in that case there was an error of injector output stage registered. I'm not sure what exactly was the reason for shutdown, but it seemed like deliberate action of DDE and not like a natural problem. My wild guess would be DDE was seeing 2 of 6 cylinders were not firing at all (if I remember correctly same strand of cable went to 2 injectors). As strange as it sounds, engine sound for those few seconds was really normal (guess due to no fuel injected into those cylinders at all). In your case you say there are no errors in DDE, so its probably not a short to ground. Or your DDE version is earlier so it does not register such errors. However I wonder could it be something similar to that like broken or shorted cable. Not sure if DDE would register such errors but probably it should. As a wild guess what it probably could not detect would be crossing of cable going to some injectors. Are you sure all the injector cables are connected to the correct injectors? If you are probably it would be worth it to check cables themselves. |

Took out rail pressure sensor and made to him few easy hits with other side of screwdriver. Car started and runs fine for longer (like for 10min), then I disconnected ir and conneted again, and car runs again for 5s. I will try to replace it with brand new and see whats happening. |

I think u you have hi pressure in the rail and go in emergency mode, see the high pressure pump and rail pressure rregullator

Okay uve disconnected rail pressure sensor and checked for leaks on the regulator valve, disconect injector plugs 1 buy 1 try firing it up and see if it cuts out, if still the same change fuel filter passenger side under floor. is there definitely fuel coming to the injectors?
fuel related hardly give any fault codes, |
