I would pick a traditional laptop with LAN port for critical task (i.e. flash ECU). I've got loads of bad experience on USB devices too. |

RE: Rheingold on tablet
I think, the usage of a cheap usb->RJ45 converters for ECU programming is not a good idea. And the slow comps - too. But sometimes the powerfull PCs make surprises ))

RE: Rheingold on tablet
I am planning to upgrade my tablet laptop HP X360 310 G1 to 500gb SSD M.2. ISTA is working very good, no problems at all with my current 128 SSD and it has a LAN port. If you put Ista P and D together then you need a bigger harddisk, your laptop will slow down, which is not so good. I only can't install Windows 7 X64 on this laptop so I need to use Windows 10 X64. I think the HP X360 310 G1 is a very good laptop to use it for coding etc.

Per the instructions, ISTA-D (or ISTA+) is run from %\Rheingold\TesterGUID\bin\Release\ISTAGUI.exe. You can right click ISTAGUI.exe and create shortcut that you can move wherever is convenient. You can also right click that shortcut or original ISTAGUI.exe and pin to Start or Taskbar. If your Rheingold is in your primary OS directory (eg. C:\Program Files (x86)\Rheingold\TesterGUI\bin\Release), you should run as administrator. |
