You may need to get another used cas and copy your data to it.

Always read and write back immediately to be sure all is ok with the tool you are using.

Cas2 is a dangerous ECU.

As far as I know, it's no need to write back data to eeprom after making a key. The key is automatically assigned to the key slot when the car is used with this new key.

Only BMW services:

Remote coding/programming - E, F, G serie
HDD change, Carplay, Screen mirroring activation
FSC pack - CIC, NBT, NBT EVO, ENTRYNAV2, MGU, KAFAS
Remote reset 8HP ISN F serie
ELV disable for CAS3, 3+

+1

Many programmers tell you to write back a modified eeprom.
Never do that!

My VVDI2 always tells me to write back a modified EEP file after programming the key, never wrote it back and keys always worked  wink

If my post was helpful to you please give me a thanks and/or reputation biggrin

Yes, never write back modified eeprom. If you actually load that modified file back in the program, you'll see that the key data is corrupted.

Interesting. I noted this with later CAS3+ and CAS4 but never tried it that way with cas2 and cas3. Will try that out. Still CAS2 corrupts even just reading it. It is rather volatile.
