Hi can anyone help me with my vas 5054a head, i get no connection to pc via usb cable, no flashing led ect, but if i plug it into car diag port i then get flashing led, ive tried multiple usb cables and also multiple pc's
is my device faulty?

No faulty, its normal.
To PC see device on USB port must be plugged into OBD2.
Just run diagnostic... do work?

plugged to car ignition on and connected to pc with usb cable
, led blinking, but no connect using odis
should it be showing in device manager as serial usb converter? or vas505a?
showing as usb serial converter in my device manager

You must use hardware configuration utility first.

Right I have totally removed odis 3.0.1 as I could not get it to work with my clone, most probably is shit, all registry ect clean, I have now installed vas pc 19.01, im using windows 7 x32, I plugged interface to car then usb it sees interface correctly as 5054a , it tries to install driver but fails, if I let it search automatically for driver it installs as usb serial converter, how do I get the correct driver to install please???

In VAS 19.01 software, when you connect VAS interface to USB, interface must be recognized as "Softing Vehicle Interface/VAS5054 ". If this not, then you have faulty interface or you fucked USB firmware, with your experimentation about installation and drivers.

Also drivers you can find in folder "C:\PDU-API\Softing\1.10.048\DRIVER\EDIC\win2000\ "

But, from my expirience VAS 19.01 not work good in some win7 versions

In your case maybe, but depends of version windows 7, because most of people use different "repacked" versions, not OEM.
