Bmw F10 ZGW flash
Hi guys!
I need to flash ZGW due some issues. Is it ok to flash ONLY ZGW to the latest I-step and leave the rest of the modules to the shipment I -step (car never had a software update)? Thanks! |

Some ZGW's are more problematic to flash over ENET than others, FYI, here's my verified procedure for flashing ZGW with ENET which works for at least my 09/11 ZGW.
1. Assign 192.168.0.1 as static IP to the laptop's NIC 2. Run tftpd DHCP's server. In settings: pool starts at 192.168.0.2, pool size 1, default gw 192.168.0.1, subnet mask 255.255.0.0. Do NOT close tftpd 3. Connect laptop with ENET <-> OBD2 cable 4. Make sure that the car gets 192.168.0.2 as assigned IP <- this allows swDeploy to finalise OK. 5. Start e-sys, connect via GW use 192.168.0.2:6801 as connection traget, select correct series 6. TAL processing - select the already calculated TAL and SVT target, in ECUs unselect everything except for swDeploy for ZGW 7. Go to parameters uncheck activate programming mode setting <- this allows post-flash ops to complete OK 8. Check software compatibility, press start 9. Remember to check activate programming mode for then next flash |

I programed several ZGW and ZGW2 with ENET and normal TAL calculation and never had any problem.

As I was saying it depends on the HW-ID of the ZGW - there are probably 10-15 versions some flash via ENET without problems, others are impossible without ICOM A2. This is what worked for me (i-step 09/11).

I try flash ZGW via ICOM with ISTA P...bootloader done ,but then show some error ....now car is dead, ISTA ask me vehicle order so i try flash ZGW via ENET and ICOM with esys ...same error....TAL,SVT calculated, FA loaded, unchecked switch ecu....connected via GW X.X.X.X:6801 (ENET) i use dhcp server, esys 3.27.1 Press Thanks and Reputation, if my post helped you.

Not all ZGW01 before 0911 gave problems to update firmware with ENET or change settings, I think High version (more channel flexray) no problems, basis version problems
