I don't know the version of A2 firmware, but A2 works good with other isid system...

IMHO if you checked that you have right firmware, then your clone A2 is problem, its very common for LQ A2 clones, that it cannot "see" key on, and seems that it can be fixed with hardware repair.

BTW does your a2 cone has header for wireless card? And does it have passive cooling part for contact between MCU and housing?

question about USB. Did you run ifhsrv32 first before running rheingold? And what did you modify in ediabas.ini to make the connection? Let me know all the steps to make a usb connection with rheingold. Thanks

I ran Inpa first and then ifhsrv32 then DIS to make sure none of the settings were changed after installing Rheingold then closed DIS and Inpa down but I can't remember whether I closed ifhsrv32 at first I changed the settings around in Rheingold and changed Edaibas.ini from obd to usb and that did not work, so I changed them back to obd and I extracted the cab files and tried it again and it worked, so I treid another cable I had, changed the port settings and obd.ini and it worked as well.
I will try again today for sure, if I missed something.

so you're saying settings used for DIS as far as ediabas is concerned is the same with rheingold? Am I right?

And what about BMW Standard Tools and Rheingold, work together on same laptop

Yes, I tested BMW Standard Tools 2.12 and Rheingold ISTA 3.40 on the same laptop and it appeared to work fine with a K+DCAN cable. Just set Rheingold to use the EDIABAS interface.
