2006 E60 INSTALLING USED DME EK928_5
Anyone had success installing a used dme in the e60 specifically a 2006 550i auto?
If so can you briefly explain the process I have ISTA-P,i have read on some forums that program first with winkfp input vin then software program,after that use ISTA-P to retrofit align CAS-DME,does this sound accurate ? |

I had no bmw tools, I used x431v to realign cas/dde. vin number was not changed but I think it can with the correct tools like you have there. BMW is not really my thing

You need Autohex, BMW explorer or BDM tools to read the DME and then write this ISN in CAS. This DME has no eeprom, everything is in the flash.

So ISTA-P can not do this procedure with measures plan of dme replacement ?
I understand that it can be done with a new (virgin) dme but was wondering about a used dme from a salvaged car that has not been virginized ? Is it because only these programs you mentioned go about erasing the flash memory first then overwriting the chip with new info,and ISTA-P can't do this process ? |
