Video TV Module Hybrid FBAS retrofit - antennas problem
Hi,
I have recently retrofited video module to my E90. Everything seem to be wired and coded correctly, but I only get static on screen. That is because my antennas (Ampire ANT600) doesn't get 5V power from fakra connectors, as they should for integral amplifiers. I read somewhere that VM needs to coded as "cabrio" car to send 5V power through fakra connectors, but I can't find any information about that, how to do it. When I read .TRC file with NCS expert there are no such options mentioning cabrio / convertible. Also strange thing about coding is, that I can read module without problem. But when I try to code it (revtors profile) it seems to be OK, I get coding active / coding ended messeges (really fast, within a second), but when I read it again all parameters are unchanged. There is no error message, only all parameters are intact, as if I haven't changed anything. Any suggestion? Thank you in advance |

RE: Video TV Module Hybrid FBAS retrofit - antennas problem
1. Program your VM using WINKFP and change VIN of VM to current vehicle.
2. Ensure that you have added $601 into your FA 3. VO code your CIC and Combox and VM. I just completed this retrofit on my E89. I tried using Kufatec antennas by cutting the existing connectors and then rewiring it to fakras but to no avail. I then replaced the kufatec with some generic 20db windscreen mounted active antennas bought on a**express and it came to life! FYI, I hooked the antennas (1 & 2) directly to car battery through a 10a inlune fuse, which is not the best of idea but it works to say the least. |
