very weird, but we know nothing is wrong with the standalone... not to state the obvious, are you using the new supplied license ? maybe post few more lines from ISTA logfile ? Mine installed with 0 issues, my previous version was 3.56.31, and didnt do anything special.

It seems as if it does not know that is needs to ask for license
I am not even asked for the new license - when I click the ista icon it takes a second and then I have the error

Well that's very early in the startup sequence. So you erased the Rheingold registry entry , then click on ISTAGUI.exe in c:\rheingold\testergui\bin\release, and you get the error?

Ive just erase that first registry entry, then I get a license warning as not valid or not existing, then follow steps to enter it, ... and then it works. Check your install, requirements, ...

I used to get an error when trying to do the measures plan with ENET. like I said, it seems ICOM is required for the software update related procedures in ISTA/D.

Does ISTA4 require the car to be on a power supply in order to code?

Programming should always be done with non-battery tender, PSU.

Do you know if the Schumacher INC-700A's 70amps is sufficient for a BMW G series platform?

Also it seems ISTA 4 is more sensitive to over-voltage than ISTA3 when the car is idling. Any idea if there's a config edit that could disable or silence these warnings?

Yes, same problem with 3.56 just tested....Everything that I can think of should be done and OK...but still the same error.

Beemerboy88 do you what has changed since 3.56 give me the same error?

Overvoltage is just as bad, if not worse, than undervoltage. Some modules are actually hardcoded to shutdown in the event of overvoltage. You can actually 'test' this by leaving the power supply/charger connected and disconnecting the battery. (I accidentally did this and it showed an overvoltage fault next time I ran ISTA-D.)

Any ideas on how I can get my SQlites to update?
They are taken from here- http://cartechnology.co.uk/showthread.php?tid=18065

But they still show as 3.56, not 4.01.20
Rcleaner and regfix have been used, db's are unblocked.

   



edit1 I have changed the names to .sqlitedbX to break the address, and that gives me the "can't connect to the DB" error, so maybe the data I have downloaded was old SQ Lites?



edit2 I have moved some other SQlitDBs into the folder, the version changes, so it can connect and read the SQlite versions.
I need to find a link for the correct 4.01.20 SQlites please!


edit3! - after clearing my torrent client, the torrent data has updated, it appears to have been using older data for some reason
