I am working on a Launcher based solution to extract the programming data from the SDP packages.

Thanks to pshoey for starting work on creating a launcher solution for the programming data, but in the meantime has anyone found and willing to share the long way to extract and relocate the programming data to the correct directories for ISTA 4?

I thought hulahans successfully did it with ICOM at least. Plus, Winrar and Winzip can open and extract *.istapackage files. I have extracted everything, as well as have full psdzdata 3.59.4.004 from ISTA-P install, but have not tested with enet yet.

I'm still working on downloading the programming data torrent as I type (almost 50%). Gonna wait for the full psdzdata 3.59.4 until tomorrow when it's on mega for use with ESys.

Fair enough. I would upload 3.59.4 full to mega, but it is almost 43 GB compressed and I do not have the space on Mega.nz. I also have not quite figured out the difference in the 37GB (*.istapackage), 60GB (ISTA-P), and 62GB version (native install).

The official release of the ISTA 4 SDP package will be version 4.01.21 and is supposed to be released next week, according to BMW's dealership notification.

I am happy to announce the availability and release of ISTA 4.01.21 – our first true production ‘ISTA Next’ capable release. ‘ISTA Next’ will from now on be referred to as ISTA 4. ISTA 4 allows for integrated programming of BN2020 vehicles (F, G and I series vehicles) from within the ISTA application further streamlining workshop processes – no need to re-connect/re-ID the vehicle and switch to ISTA/P when coding, retrofit or programming is required.

Please refer to the attached documents for more info. Additionally, we will have an ISTA 4 user training course posted in TMSI in the coming days for your workshop personnel.

We will be rolling out ISTA 4 to you in 2 waves.

The first wave will include the release of ISTA 4 with all the diagnosis data on Tuesday September 6, 2016

The second wave will be the programming data for F, G and I series vehicles which will be released in a week or so.

The main advantages of ISTA 4 are as follows and will save you time and money in the workshop:

- Improved vehicle test and reduced diagnosis time allows the vehicle to come through the workshop faster.

- It is now possible to automatically print Operation Reports without hitting a button

- Improved interface when using the IMIB, saving of settings and more reliable measurements in recorder mode.

- Fault patterns can be refreshed without exiting the diagnosis session.

- Programming is now included for F, G and I series vehicles which saves about 15 minutes per programming session.

- Printing can now be saved directly as a PDF file.

- Diagnosis Feedback now includes programming feedback directly in ISTA. Log files will be automatically sent with feedback.

Additionally the following improvements have been made over ISTA 3.56:

A total of 280 feedback items have been processed as a result of changes to a diagnostic program or documents in ISTA version 4.01.

In total, the following changes have been made:

- 93 changes and corrections to wiring diagrams

- 34 corrections in foreign language translations

- 149 changes and corrections to diagnostic test plans

- 4 corrections to the software application
