So far got it working guys, good deal! Thanks.

The biggest hickup I ran into was trying to get the SQLiteDBs from my host machine into the VM. Somehow VirtualBox isn't that great at bringing pretty large files into the VM through a Shared Folder.

I have a separate install of ISTA4 on Vbox on my iMac, and I don't have issues with very large files. Check the memory and disk space allocated to your VM.

VM: Win 7 x64 Enterprise, 12gb virtual memory and 500gb virtual disk space.

Host machine: Win 10 x64, 20gb memory and 1tb Samsung 850 Evo SSD.

I was able to work through it by downloading straight in the VM instead of using a VM Shared folder to the Host machine.

RE: ISTA-D 4.01.21 Standalone - Mega
Why do I keep getting "Failed to start ISTA"

I have installed c++ runtime 2013 X86 (I run Win 10 32bit)
I have run RCCleaner 4.4
I am starting Ista 4.01 as Admin.
I have unblocked everything before I unpacked...

Please any ideas?

I was running Rheingold 3.55 before without any problems

In the Log file is says
"2016-09-11 14:44:52 ERROR [T] ISTA: [1] App.App() - License failed"

But I guess as stand alone version It should ask for the license as the ealier versions did??

if you want to force it to ask for the license, you have to delete the registry entry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\BMWGroup\ISPI\Rheingold, if not it wont ask for it. Previously BB's cleaner used to clean that i think.

and of course you have to update HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\BMWGroup\ISPI\ISTA , which you may have done.
