LAN Problem with new SDConnect (1 week old)
Hi all.
Newly received SDConnect C4 from a vendor here (kept anonymous for now). It has worked for exactly 1 week . Device boots up, and isn't recognized by laptop anymore. My LAN settings are correct, and this device ran on 3 different laptops with Xentry on them, now doesn't connect to any. I tried multiple different LAN cables and no difference. I desperately tried other IP, with no use. I reconnected the LAN/ethernet card flex cable, and no difference Not receiving any data back. Device firmware is unchanged from original it came with. I deleted configuration in mux, and still no difference. Before I get real upset with seller, can anyone recommend anything else? We all make mistakes and I do as well. I want to resolve this as soon as possible. What is broken? Seller communicates well, but wants a factory engineer to remote into my computer to check my ethernet settings (above), which I believe are correct. Background info: I have used SDConnects for about 6 months now. I am familiar with networking, IP Addresses, Windows computers, and car diagnostics. I have set up Xentry correctly on 3 laptops (9/2015 and 12/2015) and it worked on many cars. The first mux from Aliexpress in March 2016 (not this one) lasted 3 months before it would not boot fully anymore. It got sent to China, 'repaired', and came back and worked for 1 whole day and didn't boot fully anymore. Bad LUCK. Seller is finally issuing a refund. So now AGAIN with problems, with this one from another completely different vendor and much more expensive mux. |

Any ideas? I don't want to post this in the software forum because of more traffic. Trying to keep organized and correct.

Probably something in the main PCB broken. I suggest you give the seller a chance to try it remote. Edit. Mux looks decent quality from outside pictures, it is 100925? |

RE: LAN Problem with new SDConnect (1 week old)
Yes it is 100925 and is nicer than the previous one. A nicer paperweight...
But now that I have the shop owner hounding me constantly about fixing it, and slow progress and lack of updates from seller... I think I am about to request a refund and forget about it and Mercedes diagnostics. Seriously, is everyone else having better luck with the Chinese units? 1 week reliability is just NOT acceptable. |

Sent back to XCar360.com (Steven) for exchange. Will update when they receive it and send the replacement.
(Because exchanges take so long, I also paid for and received an extra C4 mux from xcar360, and it worked just fine with the laptop setup) |

RE: LAN Problem with new SDConnect (1 week old)
Steven of xcar360.com exchanged the whole SDConnect with another one. The one I had was truly broken.
Strangely, the replacement unit had Chinese language on it, and appeared tested, but it seems to work fine. I did a settings reset and it went to English, xcar360.com is a good trustworthy company, thank you for putting up with me and tens of emails. Other Chinese companies would have just kept the tool and money (had it happen already). |
