I installed but I got error about activation. I'm new with mazda IDS. I have used Ford ids in the past so I'm trying understand what that means

My question is this related to software registration or vcm serial # ?

I use VXdiag for Ford /mazda / Honda and I think vxmanager spoof a fake serial number to vcm2 manager & IDS

Mazda IDS no need registration
Its not as Ford IDS
I think your tool serial its the problem
VCM Rotunda has this issues in the past

I'm also new to IDS, i recently bought a VCMII (china clone)

VCM manager doesn't recognise the VCMII when it's connected by usb.

IDS is installed properly and is running fine. What am i doing wrong?

I also have a cloned MDI, and when i connect my clone MDI by USB the MDI manager sees the MDI.

As far as i can see the MDI and VCM aren't that different

MDI and VCM II are diffrent
You said you have a clone VCM II?
What clone do you have?
Ford VCM II or Mazda VCM II?

Just to answare to you
This tool can works with:
Ford IDS
Mazda IDS
Suzuki SDT 2
JLR SDD
Toyota Techstream
Nissan Consult 3+
Honda HDS
And also with any other softwares that support Passthru J2534 devices
Why is not working the Mazda IDS for you is that you need to do some tricks to make it works
Maybe will be someone such a kind to tell you how to do it.
All that its shared in public it will be easy KILL it
So you need to make your tools seen by the Mazda IDS Manager and then you can use your Ford VCM 2 with Mazda IDS
