This somebody has original C3 with an OLD IBM laptop Windows NT4.0, connected to dock
I got him D6XX laptop , so here is a question
there is 2 types of cable and i'm not sure which one should i get
Type 1

Or

Type 2


have somebody done does upgrades?

Cable type 1 is the original c3 years until 2009, after the used cable type 2.
I have a 2008 original C3 and the cable is type 1, while my friend has a 2010 and uses cable C3 type 2

Cable type 1 is the original c3 years until 2009, after the used cable type 2.
I have a 2008 original C3 and the cable is type 1, while my friend has a 2010 and uses cable C3 type 2

so they both work
have you tried swapping them? to see what happens?

And 2 are all equal ... I opened my today that the black box has a Viretto cable there is no card inside, or form ... does not change anything !!

The original c3 Mux can not reverse the cables does not work.
Daxxer posted two pictures here where Mux are two original C3. In the first picture is a Mux which is used cable type 1 and in the second picture is a newer generation Mux with cable type 2.

in couple of hours i'll stop by a shop that has fake c3 and test his cable(s) type 2 on original c3 and see what will happen if any... moreover report back if type 2 has worked or not on original c3

So i tried it with type 2 and it worked flawlessly on w211

Hi there,

I need help with the pin out for the cable without a box inorder for me to e able to fix it. Checked for continuity on and it appears I have to replace the cable or cut it shrt as such I will need for bot ends (the Com port female and the other side)
