2005 ford focus non start no comms clicking from body control help
Hello all
I have a problem on a car i have been looking at I thought i would put it out here and see if anybody has seen similar 2005 ford focus diesel non start no crank pats light flashing. when ignition is turned to 2nd click, body control buzzing, dash light go off no mileage ect so i tried a new set of clocks still same, changed the body control same and no evidence of water, i checked all fuses When i connect ids, on first page when blue bar starts, vcm comms drop out (i lose vcm icon bottom right) and ids pops up saying no vcm connected! Anybody know why vcm is knocking out of comms? anybody seen these issues before? |

It was Mazda CX5 trying to program new SRS module so jump pack and all good . but had other cars low voltage and relays click , as relay close voltage drops and not enough power to hold closed so opens .

Do a battery test if the the voltage is low you will get clicking as the electronics need the correct voltage to function and vcm won't be able to communicate with vehicle as voltage is too low if battery is ok check and clean earth lead near battery

RE: 2005 ford focus non start no comms clicking from body control help
If the battery is solid, it could be a poor or corroded ground connection at the module. Just fixed an 04 Pacifica that had clicking coming from some relays in the Integrated Power Module, turned out to be some very corroded grounds below the battery. There was no communication between several modules in the car before it was fixed, after repair communication was restored. I would test the resistance on the ground wire(s) at the module that is clicking, and maybe even ensure you're getting proper voltage to it as well.
Good luck |

This is also caused by the breakdown of the regulator in the alternator.
And a bad earth, there are 3 earth wires coming from the battery, all need to be checked. |
