XZBMW  Flashing with Esys / VCM and MSM
Hello i flashed a Module with Esys and i forgot previously to uncheck VCM- and MSM-Update.
Is this an issue?
Is now maybe a wrong IStep level stored in the car?

How can i resolve this with Esys?

Thank you

When you flash, you are supposed to have update VCM and MSM checked.
When you code, you can leave these unchecked so as to leave less of a record written to vehicle.

Hi Almaretto

Yes, but i flashed just one Module with a newer I-Step than the car has.
Is now ISTA P at the dealer thinking that all Modules are on the same level? (Level which i used to flash)

Certain ECU have dependencies. You must check what those are if you are going to just flash specific modules. Use attached guide.

Yes and no... from the mouth of the dragon himself, it is not really needed, some BF folks eluded that it is needed, but one can always change the Istep current using Esys after.

Is that done in VCM with loaded SVTtarget?

As simple as Expert Mode -> VCM -> Master -> I-Step (write)

I figured, but you have to tell it what to write.

I have never done it, and it is a very good question! You may have read the same thread I did, so you may be right, or it could be as simple as eluded above...

To the OP, if you are concerned and really want to do it, best PM @shawnsheridan or try it, or check those two options and reflash... I personally flashed/updated individual ECUs and didn't care about checking those two options based on @Shawn's suggestion and vast experience in this area.
