Kafas camera is for:
-high beam assist
-lane departure warning
-speed limit info

You don't have the pedestrian warning system only that the hood pops up.

according any VIN decoder online my car comes with S8TF and S5AC. There is camera on the rear view mirror and automatic high beam working. So KAFAS is in place? why i don't see it on ecus list? and this is the 8th added to VO:

so it uses camera and brakes if pedestrian jumps in front of the car. Same camera used for High beam assist SLI and Lane departing warning. can high beam assist work without kafas?

also where kafas module should be placed? drivers footpath? when opened the panel, above the obd port I can see only one module, unfortunately don't know which one is that.

That option is part of the Driving Assistant or Driving Assistant Plus package and that option was never available for your car. (code 5AS / 5AT)
High beam assist kan work without kafas in that case a sensor is mounted directly on to the rear view mirror.



I think the kafas module is missing. Can you post a picture of the module which you have? It is not the one behind the obd port but above the clutch pedal.

Because you have a rhd I'm not sure if it is located in the drivers foothpath but I think it is. Please post a picture of it.

my car is uk model so obd port is on the right foot. just checked, and it is "zgw 01 high" on the right of it, there is empty slot for another module, so I guess its for kafas.

Yes that empy slot is for the kafas ecu but do you have the rear view mirror installed like the picture I posted?

Edit:
s8tfa pops the hood in a up position so that the pedestrian won't fly over the car. It only works till 15 or 30 km/h. I can look that up if you want to.

ok just searched, and yes this is the camera only for high beam assist. and I guess for the kafas I would need new windscreen.

Yes you'll need a new windscreen, rear view mirror and the 2 trims around it.
