[SOLVED] VW Passat 2.0TDI Particle filter overloaded problem
Hi!
I have a problem with Passat 2.0TDI CBAB engine. P242F - Particle emission filter overloaded So, the diag tool says if the particle filter is overloaded I should avoid to manually regenerate the particle filter through the dag tool. But, if the error code is set then the car won't to start automatically the regeneration process. Any idea how to solve this situation? My best regards and thank you for any advice. |

RE: VW Passat 2.0TDI Particle filter overloaded problem
Hello
step by step top solve the problem: 1.Set new dpf with VasPC or ODIS 2.One test drive for 20-25km 3.After test drive just check if are any dtc are stored 4.Activate regeneration while driving ( not standing ) for at least two times ! If there not are any sensor damage or other part damage than P242F - Particle emission filter overloaded should be history ! I have no VasPC also no ODIS. what you mean under "set new dpf"? Is that a function iside the VasPc app? I use Delphi diag tool or I have VCDS too.

RE: VW Passat 2.0TDI Particle filter overloaded problem
Thank's for all suggestion and your time.
I solved the problem with Delphi. Here is the procedure in Delphi just for people who use this tool: If DPF soot is reached the max value which is on my type of car 45gram then the regeneration would not start, otherwise follow this steps: - connect to the car engine ecu - read all DTC's - clear all DTC's ( if this P242F DTC can't be deleted don't worry about ) - go to adjustment option - search for Regeneration option and start it. - follow the instruction step by step as Delphi guide you. I hope this will help someone. My best regards. |

(06-12-2016, 18:15 PM)mike_service Wrote: Hello This normally works. However there is a reason regeneration is blocked after the DPF has reached a certain value. This is because it can be dangerous as the DPF can overheat which could burn down the whole car. If using this method, please carefully watch temperature values. Just for example I remember doing this on a Renault Laguna. When temp was over 725°C I was lying down on the floor watching the exhaust and the mounts for any sign of fire as I could smell burning rubber from the mounts. When it got to 820°C we decided stop and to leave it to cool down, then regenerated it again successfully next time round without seeing such high temperatures. |
