BMW F07 Active Cruise Control - ACC sensor replacement USED?
Hi guys,

I have BMW F07 535d EU and the car has ACC sensor not responding when diag it through Rheingold. Does anyone have idea whether can i put a used sensor and code it? I've heard that ACC sensor must be virginized otherwise I won't be able to program it, ista-p will ask to replace sensor.

How to do it, I don't want to buy new ACC sensor as it costs 10x more than used one. I'm sure there is a way.

Any advice will be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Maybe you could program it with esys.

With ista-p or ista+ it won't work, you will need esys for this job.
you have to make sure the hardware on the used ACC sensor matches completely with the original.

after replacement and coding/programming you have to re-adjust/initialize the ACC system with the special alignment tools

Thanks for your reply.

Saying "you have to make sure the hardware on the used ACC sensor matches completely with the original." you mean to have the same part number as original?

Ok, so it can be the issue, even if I inject CAFD via ESYS it still won't work with ista-p to initialize the acc? As far as I know only ISTA is able to initialize this and additional tool I need are the mirrors which shows you angles of the ACC sensor position which have to be input in to the ISTA.

Thanks.

You don't need ista-p to initialize the ACC sensor.
You need to use the appropriate service function in ista-d, which won't complain about it.
