BMW 650 - Active Steering issue
Hi all,
I have a BMW 650i, 2008 here. Does anyone have any information on fault code C99C which is "no message, receiver SZL, transmitter DSC (In the Switch Centre Steering Column section of the diagnostics outcome). Tests done. Checked wiring, olmes test, voltage test, scoped, we can communicate with both the units, we can simulate faults and clear them, but cannot clear C99C. We've tried running the latest software into the units & sent the units away for testing, the electronics people can find no fault. Having said that, the ultimate test is on the car. I'm wondering if anybody has ever come across this particular code, or similar and found a remedy? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

RE: BMW 650 - Active Steering issue
no communication with DSC at all.you have to check the next bus route..............
steering column switch cluster -> data bus BYTEFLIGHT -> Safety and Information Module -> data bus BYTEFLIGHT -> Central gateway module -> data bus PT-CAN -> DSC it could be somewhere |

Thank you very much for your answer, I'm thinking that maybe we didn't explain ourselves the best because we can communicate with both units in question and can simulate faults in them and can clear them. What we've actually got is the two units themselves will not communicate with each other. We've scanned the whole vehicle and there are no faults in the vehicle whatsoever and the only one that is in there is from the active steering module which is not calibrated and we obviously cannot calibrate it because the DSC and the SZL are not communicating with one another. Thanks very much and hope this clarifies where were at. |
