It now appears to be mandatory to upgrade to ETKA 8 if you want to install further updates.

Today after downloading this week's update 1186 etc. and starting Etka "Update", immediately a screen pops up prompting to update the system to ETKA 8. After following the instructions, the error message comes up as mentioned earlier in this thread, see below pic.
After pressing OK, the update process is aborted, including the data update.

I have the German version 7.5 Plus obtained from post#1, running on a VM Windows 10 on a desktop, and on a laptop Windows 10. Both run into the same problem.

Is there perhaps anybody who figured out a fix for this, or has any suggestion?

I have same problem with my German ETKA 7.5 + version.... no idea how to fix it. i tried a few times a complete new install from scratch on a new computer and installed all updates manually... - but always same problem

Same issue here. Have been running 7.5 German version for quite some time now, no problems with updates but now same error that no v7 installation was found...

After using etka online updatater today i got this error
price- update UPD_UPDATE_PATH not found (C:\ETKA\PROG\etka_sk.ini)
and UPDATE_KENN (C:\ETKA\PROG\etka_se.ini)
how do i rectify?

Yes had that same problem. No idea what happened.

I renamed both files, copied the etka_vw.ini file to a new etka_se.ini and etka_sk.ini. Opened new files in editor and searched for VW and replaced with SE or SK.
After that, both brands worked again, update version was shown again.

No that part was for Moiloon's issue about the ini files for seat and skoda.
Got that working again by copying and modifying the vw file.


Etka 8 won't install here on German 7.5 installation. Got same message that no v7 installation was found.

msvcp100.dll


what is this error mean?

Renames theses 3 dlls to something like mfc100original.dll and rerun setup. Setup should now work.

When your etka installation is completed rename the 3 created dlls to something like mfc100old.dll and rename back original dlls to the ones you had to rename before installation.

This worked for me.

Thanks @planet-fireball for the additional updates in the starting post.

Already was at level 1185-711-717-1185 so only needed to do step 9) from the installation instructions: running the ETK8-UPGRADE-1186-712-718-1186.EXE from the
ETKA8_Germany_Upgrade_2017.rar archive for the Germany Version.

This one installed fine and Etka 8 was ready. After that it was the normal update routine.

So I did not do a complete new install after all, I used my existing 7.5 German installation and upgraded to Etka 8 using the ETK8-UPGRADE-1186-712-718-1186.EXE file, NOT the etka_8_install file that was already in C:\Etka\Prog\VIII
