Well maybe someone can point me in the right direction.

2000 mercedes S500 (w220)
symptoms: sometimes when you turn the key the car will not start. The shifter also will not come out of park. Seems to be temp related but it does it in warm weather also. When it does the the CAN current drops down to 1.4 volts. so i thought maybe it would be the shifter module. Changed it. Still does it.

heres my problem.
Want to change the EIS in this vehicle. Read somewhere that a used one can be programmed. The original one in the car has mcu's that are motorola 908's. The one that i bought used has 705's in it so..........what programmers/and what procedure do i need to take to put this used EIS in this vehicle so i can get it out of here. If you have any insight as to what i can do and what i need please let me know. I do have Star c4, FVDI, car prog.......what else do i need and what is the procedure. Any information would be greatful Thanks again

The mcu's in the original EIS are
MC68HC908AZ60

the mcu's in the new(used) eis are
MC68HC705X32




can i copy the 908's to the 705's? please help me out with the procedure. It would be greatly appreciated. If this is not the way to clone the original please let me know the proper way so i can move forward. thanks again
