Ford transit connect 1.8tdci 2004 firing trouble
Hello Good people,
I have the above Ford 2004 model, first this car bloke the camshaft then the owner bought complete head, but after installing the car never fired,it cranks but no injectioni check all wiring and it seems OK I have power and ground to ecu and I have 5volts on injectors, but there is no check engine light on dash. Checking on ecu pin out there is 12 volts on pin 16 which goes to dash as it should but no MIL. I try to diagnose with Autocom and WOW but there is no connection to ecu, now regardless of all these I read somewhere that if there is not enough diesel pressure the ecu will not let the injectors pulse is this true? What can I do to this car? Please help |

RE: Ford transit connect 1.8tdci 2004 firing trouble
No MIL means the ECU is not alive, check for missing or broken grounds. That would also explain the no comm with scantools.
If someone took the time to help you, the least you can do is take a few seconds and press two buttons!

Do you have 5v on map sensor or throttle pedal?

RE: Ford transit connect 1.8tdci 2004 firing trouble
1) If your ECU was not get power you would NOT be able to crank the engine as it would have been Immobilized and your Immobiliser light in dash would be flashing..................But, as you can crank the engine and your immobiliser light is function as normal than ECU power should not be the problems..............
2) For Engine light not showing on dash could be some body has covered it or have removed the bulb so that you check can later but, first get the engine running...................So, first check you basic things.. 3) Check your Timing, Fuel Pressure, Make sure your have bleed the fuel system properly as ford fuel system is non for giving problems.... 4) Look for and other diagnostic tool and see if you can communicate with the engine............Using Autocom and WOW software you must have used the same interface so it could be your inter face is the problem and it is a non thing that many Clone China Autocom, Delphi interface don't work on ford......... Good Luck....... If My Post Was Helpful

RE: Ford transit connect 1.8tdci 2004 firing trouble
Have you tried to see if the engine will run on easy start, as this is a quick way to see if its a fuel issue or a mechanical issue, if it runs on easy start then u know u have a fuel prob,
