RE: Ultimate ediabas voltage control
I have updated the first post with a new version of my utility. Its now tested on ISTA+ 4.03.31's clamp change procedure during error delete. But should work on many versions because its not tied to any specific ISTA+ version (as long as it's internal structure doesn't change much). Next step will be to test if ABLs which need clamp change work as well, but I again have no access to any vehicle I could test that. I would appreciate if anyone would suggest me which ABL requires that on 2006 E60 535d.

RE: Ultimate ediabas voltage control
Just a silly question, please bear me:
If I need to simulate "ignition off" what should I do: move the slider to 0.0 V or uncheck ?

P.S. Last version seems to work; actually, not yet tested on a car.

RE: Ultimate ediabas voltage control
Unchecking the check is the same as moving slider to 0. I added the check so there would be no need to play with slider for quick on/off. So its the same whatever you do. ISTA+ seems to use 9V as ignition yes/no trigger.

It works for me on r1200s & ista+ !
Congrats

For all who have problems with k+dcan cable and abls which need power
Recognition: THIS is the right tool !

Works good. Better solution than that other voltage tool!

RE: Ultimate ediabas voltage control
On a number of the older motorcycle models the diagnostics interface is 3 wire only so there is no KL15 signal on the 10 pin diagnostics socket.

An adaptor cable with a switch to emulate ignition off/on is meant to be used between the VCI and the bike diagnostics socket and in the past it worked. On ISTA/Rhein versions 3.56 and 4.03 emulating the ignition switch with a signal to the ICOM or USB L-LIne adaptors it does not work at least for adaption reset on a model recently tested so the new ABL's seem deficient and there have been comments from Dealers to owners about poor handling of older models by the newer ISTA versions

By coincidence or not there have been instances of machines not responding properly to adaption resets plus indications the Diagnostics system has not prompted the Dealer to idle the machine to rebuild adaption tables after a reset. The machines have then been able to be reset/rebuild adaptions properly using alternative diagnostics tools

I find it difficult to believe BMW have elected to make the adaptor cables redundant and support of older models ignored. It seems there are a few bugs in in the later ABLs which will need to be addressed. A tool like this though at least provides a work around

RE: Ultimate ediabas voltage control
Well, I'm glad my tool helps. But as I see it if this tool helps, then ICOM + switch adapter should work equally well. This tool is for interfaces other than ICOM because ISTA does not query them about voltage. Earlier ISTA versions like 4.01 seemed to have better support for some other "strange" interfaces, but 4.03 seems to have that code removed (I may be wrong, because I haven't analysed 4.01 much) and ICOM remains the only interface which is fully supported for voltage readings.

Tested with K+DCAN on ISTA+ 4.03.31, screenshot attached, works great. Thanks Node.

RE: Ultimate ediabas voltage control
Hey, I got the program working perfectly with Ediabas, but I don't think I've set up the ISTA+ side properly. I renamed the original obd32.dll in the ISTA folder to obd32.ebas.dll and put NodeISTAVoltageControl.dll in its place. I'm getting an IFH error on 3.52 and 4.03.31.
