I know what i'm doing and i did it with FSTOOL. Problem was that the map generator i used didn't want to recognize the signed 1B FSC . I managed to get one that worked.

By this long journey i confirm that this patch does _NOT_ work on older firmware even if you get a red screen and reboot like i did.

How do you know the patch doesn't work on older firmware even if get red screen/reboot, as you said in the other post you upgraded cic to latest??? :huh:

Because before the upgrade i had C16 and it didn't work, but the screen went red and rebooted. I checked FTP and rcert.swt was not uploaded by the script, it was the old one, and patching the binary didn't work. Also for some reason i couldn't see HmiMain binary or CicEceUsaHighSecond in /usr/HBproject (for size/date comparison to see if the script actually worked). Don't know if it was an OS thing (hidden files or something) but i didn't dig further.

I also kind of "decompiled" 20% of the patcher with IDA Pro just out of curiosity and it does have a check function for the SW version (couldn't not see where it checks).

As soon as i upgraded to C1A (sp daten v60, i guess it's the same version on v59, mine is E-series) everything worked smoothly with the same FSTOOL setup i had. Even 9C FSC uploaded successfully.

For maps code generation, you don't need to fetch the 1B from CIC, just use the signed one you used to upload in the CIC. My problem was the FSC generator, it didn't accept a "virgin" 1B FSC of 151 bytes. Probably it would have expected the 319 bytes one which is usually used. But i switched the generator and use the code for my map (in this case Middle East Premium which is 0x36) and 0xff for lifetime activation and it worked.

I've got an hardware emulator installed... should I remove the emulator first, before I patch the CIC?

You should remove the emulator before patch the cic and try to install latest software.

With NCSExpert expertmode profile F1,F3,CAS, back,change ecu, CIC,change job,read ecu then you have current software installed (correct me if i'm wrong)

I have an issue...

All FSCs are accecpted, but when i load the 20 digit FSC in Idrive, the update begins and after restar of CIC, the Navigation is greyed out again ...

Doas anyone know why, or solve the issue?
