First of all let me share the words of warm appreciation with you guys - you did an excellent and unprecedented job!

I have an F10 with factory installed CIC. Just like many of other guys I wanted to extend it with 6NR, used the patch, applied all certs and everything worked well.

However at some point of time I decided to re-flash the CIC and all certs became unavailable, and navi got grey color in menu. (I know I could load the patched FSCs again, and resolve the problem)
So just for experiment I decided to rollback to original FSCs (from repair pack) and couldn't apply them as a root certificate (rcert.swt) is different with original one after patch. So I had to virginize CIC, replace root cert and import FSCs form repair pack. (Luckily I had the original rcert.swt, saved long time ago for backup purposes.)

Why I wrote my story -
1. I'd like to confirm with you guys if the situation I had is a normal one or it's something unexpected?
I mean that after CIC reflash all custom certs need to be re-imported?
2. I'd like to confirm what is the proper way to come back to a factory state of CIC including factory FSCs?
Is the backup/restore of original rcert.swt is an essential part of the "getting back" process? Or any other workaround is possible when there's no chance to find original rcert.swt?

If something from my experience is valid, then I'd sincerely recommend you guys to extend the "how-to" and add this information with a bold text for convenience and safety of others.

Please share your thoughts on this.

How do you backup the rcert.swt? Is this file same for every CIC, if that's case, then we can backup from one and load to others, right?

Not possible,rcert must match the one in the IoC processor...
That is just what intel123 patch does,it skips the check of rcert in IoC processor.

So once the CIC had been patched, there is noway to revert back unless we had backup the rcert.swt in advance, is my understanding of this correct?

Just reflash again and you are back on stock rcert

Hi guys

I finally got the B1 revision usb2eth adapter and i managed to connect to CIC.
I found inside copie_scr.sh script, ran it again, it says that is already backed up (or something similar i can't remember).

Good until now.

Checked rcert.swt scert.swt fcert.swt in /mnt/HBpersistence, all had dates from 2008 ! (since the car is)

I copied over the DER files from CERTS folder in SWTPatcher after i backed up the 2008 dated files , and renamed them to SWT as original name.

FSTOOl2 still gives error when trying to store certificates, status says only loaded, and CIC utility says activation FSC (CIC vin same as CAS vin) but no status on certificates, all fields are "PENDING".

Is there any method to check if CicMainEceUsaSecond binary is patched or not ? (check date of file or size ?) . I don't really know where to find the binary to check.

In this way i can confirm if the patcher works on older firmware if i can check the binary size / date of modification.

I will make another try with Dr Gini B021 to see if the problem is carserver/fstool2 combo or else where

Did you try it yourself and confident about result, or it's just your assumption?

Asking as I've re-flashed CIC 2 times already and original cert doesn't return, and the cert existing before re-flash stays unchanged.

Where can I find FSTool v2? Can someone send me working download link?
I have e91 with oem CIC and want to add 6nr. My version od CIC is C1A from 20.05.2011 (CIC_L6_1107_Release B1107-501-1121A Build 11) will patch work or I have to upgrade nav first?
