I've got a friend who's got some problem with E61 (model year past 2008) after replacing auto transmission. He can't start the engine, it's cranking but and dies after couple of sec. He sent me a message what he had done with programming and coding with ISTA P

"Last week i programmed and coded the complete car as explained. Things went awry at that point.

Before I started the green light on he gear stick was on. However the program had the connection error and several modules failed to update. The park light on the gear switch went out and the module in ista-p went blue showing program and coding fail.

I tested everything in ISTA-D and the gws show program issue and lin-can error. The Lin can error shows up in the gearbox module as well.

Tested everything, came to the conclusion the gws was bad.

Fitted a new one. Turned ignition on park light green. Launched ista-p code it to the car. Did nothing else except request that one module to be coded. Program ran. Heard a click from the module and the light went off. New unit now showing the same program fail and is blue on ista-p again. ISTA-D is showing same lin-can error as previous module.

Ista-d talks about flexray synchronisation but doesn't show anything about how to do it."

Anyway I was told it might be down to K+dcan cable limited functionality. Well I'm wondering myself is that correct even if using ICOM emulator ? Also does anybody knows procedure for Flex Ray synchronisation ?
Any advice would be appreciate.

Have you did battery reset after programming for 30+ minutes
Many times I seen flex code it end-up been a relay inside the back/trunk fuse box, cas plug, I just unplug/plug cas wire plug and then flex code is gone

I guess he didn't but programming wasn't complet because of module failure.

Don't program with USB cable and emulator. Use icom for these advanced jobs. Save yourself the headache amigo.
