I Had Thermal Compound Before and after that i changed to pads.. I don't think Its the temperature issue. I even ordered and installed NE555 Pulse Generator to Simulate RPM Signals coming from a fan but no luck..Haven't tried to install fan with speed sensor yet. Its on Order. Last option To Reflow or Change ATMEL 16L Micro controller. Ive ordered ATMEL Chip from Aliexpress still haven't received it yet. To my surprise Found a difference in the Atmel Chip on A1 and A2. ORIGINAL A1 use ATMEGA 16L-8MU Original A2 use ATMEGA 16A-MU CLONES USE ATMEGA 16L-8MU Only difference is the first one is clocked at 8 mhz and second at 16 mhz. |

RE: BMW ISPI ICOM-FW 03-15-00
Ok guys I've finally solved the dreaded RED SYSTEM LIGHT BLINKING issue on Icom A2. I ordered ATMEGA16A-MU micro controller from Aliexpress and a 20mm 5V fan 3 wire that is POWER/GROUND/TACH. First i removed the Atmel Chip from ICOM A2.. It lit up like a Christmas tree all LEDS'S RED, But surprisingly i could connect to the ICOM through web browser. But could not allocate ICOM for diagnostics, No voltage sensing etc etc. I reworked the same Chip again same error.. FAN TEST FAILED. I then installed the new Atmega 16a-mu. No more errors. System led is green and ICOM working as normal.cheers.. Only problem i had was there are 3 tiny resistors on the top of the Atmega chip with i blew away while reworking and then put it again but swapped with each other. The problem was that the ICOM was showing KL 30 = 22VOLTS not good also no more ignition sensing. scratched my head for a bit and then i realised i must have swapped them resistors. So i put them back the way they were and then the KL15/KL30 Voltage was proper and also Ignition sensing. The only thing is that now with the ICOM the KL15/KL30 keeps fluctuating and not stable but the values displayed are correct.. Can anyone shout out to me the value of the resistors above and around the Atmel chip? Just to see if I'm correct.. Also i installed the fan With tach sense same wiring as the NE555 Pulse generator. I have marked the Resistors with red with i need values of!! If some one could be kind enough to share just to double check them on my ICOM..
