Older versions of Business Europe maps for 2004 E60
Hey there,

Does anyone have access to older versions of the Western Europe navigation maps for Business (M-ASK). I'm trying to create a maps disc for a 2004 E60, and have tried 2017 on a Dual Layer disc so far, which hasn't worked, so I'm currently looking for older versions that'll fit on a Single Layer disc.

Based on some research that I've done, I am looking for a version of the Western Europe Business maps for any year before 2008: 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007. Failing that, I'm interested in getting hold of any old versions before 2012.

Does anyone know where I can get access to any of these versions? There don't seem to be any on this forum or on GPSU or GPSP. Maybe it's possible that someone here has them saved to an old HDD somewhere that they could upload?

I'd really appreciate some help with this. Thanks.

When you say you tried DL DVD sounds like you tried the professional map version which is not compatible with M-ASK.

I believe it's hard to find this copy but i read somewhere long time ago about using VW RNS-510 data to build business navi dvd for bmw. Im sure someone here have knowledge with those old systems.

Or find few people driving same car, share the price of the DVD. [THUMBS UP SIGN]

It was definitely the Business version, from this very forum:

As far as I can tell, the problem is that Business or Professional, the discs became Dual Layer after 2008, so any map disc released after 2008 won't work in a car that doesn't support Dual Layer discs.

No-one at all has a copy of the 2004, 2005, 2006, or 2007 Business navigation maps?

good you highlighted this thread because I never seen it before , it's clearly highlighted by one of the gentlemen that if your car not reading dual layer DVD then you need to update the software of your head unit , easy task if you have the right tools ( ICOM A and B ) and some flashing skills or working version of ISTA-P which is available here in the forum .

I'm aware bro, that's why I'm asking for older versions of the maps. The size of the navigation maps generally gets larger each year, so I was banking on there being an older version of the Western Europe navigation map that is under 4.7GB, and therefore small enough to fit onto single layer disks. If I can find that, it'll solve the problem.

Are you positive that updating the firmware is an easy process? I've coded this car using NCS Expert in the past, but I was told by BMW dealerships and independent coding shops that upgrading the car's firmware is too risky because it's so old.

yeah I understand your concerns , well I'm very positive about flashing , I personally have done 50+ CCC flashing for E60 and E90 , I seriously never had an issue using WINKFP and ICOM1 A+B , it's not an auto pilot process as you need to flash each internal module separately one by one unlike flashing with ISTA-P . but you don't need to flash the whole car , you need only MASK update .

good luck
