Hi

I updated my diagbox v7.83 (8.19) on a vm test. i update it until v 7.855 (8.50)
and know the vin number can't be found automatically. so i manually type it and it does not work. The process stops here i can not go further.
i updated firmware too v4.3.5 and it works fine on my stable diagbox version 7.83(8.19).
Any idea about the problem?
I don't know from which update it starts to bug.
i know that i had a problem with java re7 and sim app. (error message unable to find vm jre7 in \jre7). somethings like this.

i manually edited c:app\sim\sim.in and replace
\jre7 with C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin
and no more errors from sim app.

There is no need to install any Java Runtime Enviornment. DiagBox V7 installs Java 6 in "C:\APP\sim\jre\bin" and DiagBox V8 installs Java 7 in "C:\APP\sim\jre7\bin".

The line "-vm" followed by the line "jre7/bin" in sim.ini (DBox 8) would be correct. Because the sim.ini file is in "C:\APP\sim\" there is no need to write the full path "C:\APP\sim\jre7\bin", unless there is another Java installation that starts with Windows and causes the confusion of the executable path.

To find out the real cause behind your issue, check if you remove (or comment) the lines "-vm" and "jre7/bin or the full path" from sim.ini to see if it will use the other available Java which starts with computer. Or replace the lines (partial or full path) in the sim.ini file and remove any other Java installation. It may also need firewall unblocking..

The purpose of this test is to confirm that the installation is fine with no further file corruption that will produce functional surprises when using the system.

It is a good idea to remove all Java installations.

And let you know the issue of this test.
I don't think firewall is a problem because it is not activated all my diagbox installations run on a vm xp pro sp3. There is an emulated lan adaptor but without internet connexions.
If this does not work I will check all is working fine after every applied update since the 7.83

During the installation of DiagBox on any platform (including Virtual Machines), several pop-ups appear, requesting firewall access. The installer needs to accept all requests in order for DiagBox to work correctly.

I have performed tens of installations, but noticed a couple of times, that the requests offered the wrong configuration, leading DiagBox not to work properly. I don't remember the reasons.

It is good to know but my firewall is deactivated.
I did not have enough time to do my diagbox's install. I have not my laptop once I get it I will give issues to you and other members.

I tried to solve my problem with sim app but it is not good
tried to make a new fresh install all is fine until v7.83. from the 7.83 i started to update with 8.17 to 8.37 update, and from this moment sim app get the problem.
i was wondering if i did something wrong. so i downloaded you app 835 folder renamed my and past into c:
and now i have a problem with psastart at windows start and psagaent at diagbox start please watch pictures.
no problems with sim app
i stopped everything here.
i tried to past msvcp90.dll into app\ddc\bin but still this error

You seem to have a problem with VC++2008 installation !!

Thank you very much i read all the requirements. The only thing that I have not respected it was vc2008++ I installed one from Microsoft.
I removed it and installed the one of the teleassitance folder.
And it works.
With 8.35 app update.
I installed all updates until 8.55 and it works fine on a 407 with diagbox I will try for pp2000 and diagbox nextly.
No problems with some apps.
I am glade.
I will make a copy of my vm in case of a bug for further updates.
