Thanks for everything, it works perfectly, I have upgraded, several cables I had in the drawer with old versions and everything works perfectly, and after updating with the programmer asapusb, I can go back to configure by usb, so if it ever dies, Can be used again, without problems,

Now i have 5 equal cables and all working

I have old BM device (0x44) with VCDS 10.6.4, which work great. I have old LPT programmer which I used when the device update itself. I use Mprog and PonyProg. Everything OK.

Today I try to update to 17.8, but it didn't work. I used ftdi_mprog_BMBL.ept and Flash1.96_HW_0x44.bin.

I received error - Status: Failed self test

When I reprogramm to old version, everything works like a charm.

Please for help.

If you had 10.6.4 interface i am sure that back then chinese did not play in firmware or in bootloader as they did in new versions. Why did you not use the usb upgrade method?

Because I don't have USB AVR programmer. I will order one from ebay and try.

You don't need a programmer if you want to try the "USB upgrade method".
Read the instructions/thread again, it's pretty clear what you need to do....

Hey i have china 15.7. It's with STC chip and HW 0x46. So can i update it simple via USB?
i plugged it via USB and HW detect does not detect my cable, should i first remove STC chip, or connect ąčv to OBD pin?

Before updating remove pin 34 and 35 (if it is ok or not ??? I wonder)
Looking at your tutorial to update my interface I found a problem(2.PROGISP FOR VCDS Tutorial)
the update by usbasp perfect (this says the program Progisp v1.72)
  But when I connect the interface to the computer it tells me that it does not recognize the interface
When I connect 12v to obd interface the light turns green and red and sometimes flashes red

I have VAG Software version: 17.1
Firmware Version: 1.96 (HW Version: 0x46
Identification: ROSS-USA)
Chip Edition: ATMEGA162 + FT232RL + L9637D + 16V8B

If u connect just to pc interface needs to be seen. if not you have:
1 driver problem
2 ftdi chip problem

After flashing the interface to work little and after 10 minutes stopped working
1.Connecting interface to the pc, windows does not detect the interface (sometimes it detects sometimes not)
2: ftdi chip problem: in this case what are the steps ??
