For old versions not need new firmware....

That's true, what happens is that the latest versions serve to improve the previous ones among other things and do not harm. Who has the latest update can use older software.

Not always the new firmware will works well with old softwares.
China ine 100219a its not working 100% well if you are using newer firmware version.
I will give you another example. The vcds firmware fw1.96 will creat a not vomunication on CAN BUS if you are using a vcds up to 15.7.4 which is need fw1.94
Sometimes is good and other times is not.
All depends by the stuff we have.
If you have a genuine tool and you cannot play with the firmware then its better to keep the right firmware in your tool
But in our case we can play with firmwares in opcom so why we cannot try it.
Me I have opcom 170823c registred to see what its cover even I do not speak hungarian but I can translate using google translator.
And usually I am using vaux-com 160115a and opcom 150406d english and from time to time the romanian version opcom 150406b and I kept fw1.66 in my tool.
I haven't seen any issue or bug in 160115a and 150406b/d versions.
But I never used this fake firmwares made by chinese as fw1.70, fw 1.80 or fw 1.95 and they said that its a better newer version even they use same old vauxcom 120309a or 100219a versions.

New version 170823c works well on new cars. Tested. Till now only hungarian update exist, but for me no problem

First install 150506a and then upgrade to 170823c.

But still not englisch but hungarian language version.
