I2C eeprom's (24Cxx) have no protection. Do you have same spare of the eeprom to practice and verify your programmer ? Doing that on the spare before you damage the data on this one.

Are you sure your eeprom it's 24C128 ???
Maybe it's 95128 which it's SPI eeprom .
Check connection of eeprom onto bsi : 24C128 have pind 1,2,3,4 connected to GND and 95128 have only 4 pin to GND.

Hi i had problems with this reader and modified it with a 16volt 1000uf capacitor accross the usb 5v supply plug in part...it wouldnt read the 95160 at all...just all FF data when read...25160 is the same as the 95160 ic...the programmer now works well with the 16v 1000uf cap mod...obviously the pc usb supply must have lots of noise so the mod works!
