KOpel  Working with hybrid opel ECUs
Hell, all
I had some experience in reflashing delco and simtec and want to share it:
When working on the bench with an ecu from scrap cars, before reprogramming it, try to reset it, and never, but never boot it with an immo that has another pin code than the ecu you are trying to reprogram! First, you will have to match the ecu with the immo, becouse after several "ignition on/off", the ecu will block into security wait time due of unrecognizing the immo connected to it. Having other pin code, the ecu enters security wait time mode and refuses to communicate.
Till now, i had no acces to a tool to unbrick the blocked ecus, so, be carefull! Somebody posted a thread on in australia/uk, don't remember exactly, that the security wait time can be resetted with Tech 2.
Could anyone give a clue about how Tech 2 can unbrick them?
I will be verry thankfull, i have 4 bricked ecus and it could be used on cars. Alot of people are searching this models to swap on their cars... Mostly the z18xe simtec that i have... but they are bricked!crying

Hi,
Bricked... no communication on k-line. I have no chance to take it out from that security wait time. At least, i don't know how to, or i have no tools to do it... None of my friends working in auto services could give me a sollution on how to reset it ftom that state.

Hello, totally agree with you. Tried that on car, tried that on bench, no result at all... Others say that ecu need to be powered with ignition and tool connected on car, but i have an issue on doing that: i've tried that with one delco, but no chance; on the other way, i have 3 simtec 71 from scrap cars that i powerd only on bench... no result. Must be a sollution on powering them in a boot mode, but how? All the tools i have can boot only with 250,500 and 1000 ohm pull down resistors. I will try waking them up with other values, maybe 100 ohms... i don't know yet... worths to try. Thanks for the replay...

RE: Working with hybrid opel ECUs
I read a articular in one of the delco websites( i will try to find) it is a ic. that closes the communication link .and u can jump a wire across in and force it too.i will try to find that again.

gm is( three ) ten min wait you have to activate the starter for two seconds to start the ten over again.leave power on it find accessory volt in and start volt in power on accessory and every ten power start volt in 2 seconds.that might work
