I do not know why when putting this version of the update Navi DVD COMAND APS NTG1 EUROPE v18 2017 it reboots continuously the unit on W211, but with the earlier versions 2015 or 2016 works fine. Does anyone know?

I think that you must to upload your firmware if you want to use latest map.

Yes firmware update 30/06 is sometimes neccessary but keep in mind if you have the so called "DVD in motion" you will lose it if you upgrade.
