Hello folks!! i have a bmw X6 M50d with water damaged ecu. i cannot communicate with the dme, nothing.

is there any chance to replace it with a ecu from x6 40d?

is there a way to flash the right software with winkfp? both ecu are dd731(i checked bmw etk). is enought to choose the right zbnumber from dde731 list? if yes which is it?

i have already read ISN from 40d ecu with abritus so sinc should not be a problem...

i added pics from both ecu, from dde731 winkfp list and from the m50d ecu guts...


if there is any other way please suggest, i m willing to pay, or invest in new tools.

Mate I think you will need the same hardware, with same numbers to succeed.

I think NO,that's not enought. Becose any ecu have one name but different hardware. i think u need to look in data directory(EC_APPS\NFS\DATA). Then find directory for you old ecu. This directory usual contain data about sw and hw capability.

In first case as i know you need ecu-explorer for reading and change ISN,and you must open ecu. In a second, you need ISTA/P or winkfp for programm and code DDE.
